For Masons

Whether conducting a Lodge of Education or Degree Work, our Stated or Special Communications are treasured events at Acacia Lodge, and through our core tenets of excellence in ritual and education, we endeavor to provide a meaningful experience for all. We would be pleased for you to join us!

Please contact our Senior Warden at to inform us of your upcoming visit, any accommodations needed, and information on requirements.

If you are a Master Mason within the Grand Lodge of Connecticut jurisdiction, please bring your current dues card. If you are a Mason outside of Connecticut, please contact our Secretary at for more information on requirements.

Please see our Dress Code requirements for our Communications. Guests are encouraged to bring their own aprons, however, we do have limited number of guest aprons available.

For Non-Masons

If you have interest in joining Masonry, there are three requirements in Connecticut: that you be at least 18 years of age and of good moral character; that you have a belief in a Supreme Being; that you have resided in Connecticut for at least one year prior to petitioning. If this describes you, and you still want to join, you must initiate contact with us.

Once you initiate contact with the Lodge, we will reach out to you to invite you to one of our events: usually a dinner held prior to our meeting. This will be your opportunity to meet the members and ask any questions you may have. It is very important that you understand it may take some time from when you visit until you may have a petition. At Acacia Lodge, we will not present one until you have visited us at our events or dinners for a minimum of 3 months. This gives us the opportunity to get to know you a little better, as for you to get to know us.

If given the opportunity to submit a petition for membership, it will then be read at our next Stated Communication, and a committee of three will be assigned to interview you with your spouse or parents present at your home. They will also check your references given on your petition, and decide whether you would be a good candidate. They will report at the next Stated Communication whether you were found to be favorable or unfavorable, and then a secret ballot is taken. If you are elected to join the Lodge, you will be contacted with your date of your first Degree. The Fees to join Acacia Lodge are $300.00 with your petition, and includes your Degree Fees. If you are ultimately not elected after petitioning, your entire fee will be refunded to you.
